CERTIFICATED PROGRAM
Award in General Business Studies with a Concentration in Technical Communication
A Concentration in The Award in General Business Studies
UCLA Extension’s online Award in General Business Studies now offers a concentration in technical communication. The Award is granted after completion of nine four-unit 1-199 or 400-level courses offered by UCLA Extension in Business and Management.
Students pursuing the concentration in technical communication must take at least four or as many as nine courses in the field of technical communication. Core courses recommended for students with no background in technical communication include: Technical Writing, Technical Editing, Information Design and Strategic Communication Planning. Due to the flexibility of this program students may choose any of the technical communication courses offered to satisfy their requirements for the concentration.
How do you design your own curriculum?
2 options:
- Take all nine courses in technical communication.
- Take a minimum of four courses in Technical Communication with the remaining five courses to be selected from the business and management course offerings listed in the quarterly online brochure.
