"About half of the practical ideas I learned from the class came from the other students and the instructor."

About the Praxis I® Test

The Praxis I® test is a national teacher examination required by 32 states and U.S. territories and administered by the Educational Testing Service. The Praxis I® test assesses competencies in mathematics, reading comprehension, and writing. Many colleges or universities require a qualifying score on the Praxis I test before admission to the school.

The test is offered in two formats: paper and pencil (PPST) and computer-based (CBT). The paper and pencil test is administered six times a year in locations around the country during the months of January, March, April, June, September, and November. A computer-based test is also available and can be taken at any time an official testing center is open.

OnlineLearning.net offers an online, self-guided course called Prep2Teach: Praxis I® Test Preparation that specifically addresses the skills and concepts addressed by the Praxis I® test. While not the actual exam, the Prep2Teach modules cover reading comprehension, writing, math, and general test taking skills.
